Historic Hauntings: A Ghastly Ghost Tour
When : October 17-19th & 24-26th, 2013
What is it? : This hour-long walking tour and haunted hayride explores the eerie encounters and mysterious happenings of downtown Fayetteville and historic Haymount. We dare you to join us as ghostly re-enactors and story-tellers take you through historic Fayetteville’s most infamous haunted and creepy locations. Will you see a roaming spirit or a spooky ghost? Join us for a historic adventure into Fayetteville’s chilling past.
This year meet some of Fayetteville’s most infamous characters and legendary spirits as we make our way on foot down historic Hillside Ave. Join us as we set the tone of our community during the eve of Sherman’s strike on Cumberland County. You’ll see and hear first hand some of the stories of our earliest criminals, and spine-chilling happenings. So, travel back in time as we guide you through some spooktacular local history!
This is a rain or shine (full moon that is) event! Bring blankets or umbrellas if needed. Reservations are required.
* This event does include a 20-30 minute walking tour. It is not intended for patrons with limited mobility or strollers. The terrain will include some hills and dark corners!

Make sure to arrive early! Wagons do leave at scheduled time. Allow enough time to find parking and to check in.
Suggested Parking : Large parking lot overlooking Rowan Street Park, Rowan Street & overflow parking at Value Place.
Hallow’s Eve Event
When: October 30th
What is it?: Are you ready to take a walk on the dead side, and help out a great cause? If so, don’t miss our annual Hallow’s Eve Cemetery Walk. City Historian, Bruce Daws, will guide participants by candlelight for a one hour walking tour through Cross Creek Cemetery. During the tour you will hear tales of murder, mayhem, and just plain odd stories of how folks came to reside there.
Proceeds from this popular event are used to restore the vandalized and valuable headstones in Cross Creek Cemetery. Join us for a unique look into Fayetteville’s interesting past!
Cost: Tickets for the Hallow’s Eve Cemetery Walk are $10.00 and must be purchased in advance. Tickets are available at The Fayetteville Dogwood Festival’s office, in the Liberty Point building at 145 Person Street, or by calling the Dogwood Festival office at (910) 323-1934.

Tickets are $6.00 and can be purchased by calling (910) 323-1934 or purchased at the door. Tickets are discounted $1.00 if you bring a can good item to benefit the food pantry for Fayetteville Urban Ministry.
Children 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent.
A portion of the proceeds from The Hillside House of Horror will benefit the Sampboys – Fishing to Fight Cancer campaign.
